Hawaii’s exclusive swing jazz band, Kahulanui has just returned from their west coast tour full of bright-eyed enthusiasm. It is always so rewarding to connect Hawaii with the rest of the world. New places and new people exposed to Hawaii in a very upbeat and fun way through Kahulanui!

Venues performed: 9/2 the 66th Annual Strawberry Music Festival, Tuolumne, CA; 9/3 Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse, Berkeley, CA; 9/4 Don Quixote’s International Music Hall, Felton (Santa Cruz), CA; 9/6 Music on Main, Portland, OR; 9/9 Rumba Notes Lounge, Seattle, WA; and 9/10 The Secret Society, Portland, OR. Oregon fires cancelled Sister’s Folk Festival venues.

Patrick Eskildsen on electric bass, lead guitar and vocals, Duke Tatom on ukulele and vocals, Tim Taylor on drums/percussion, originator Lena Naipo on lead vocals and guitar. Horn arranger Jesse Snyder on clarinet and tenor sax (, Bill Noble on baritone and alto saxophones, Joshua Timmons on trumpet, Vincent D’Angelo on trombone and Dwight Tokumoto on steel guitar.
